Description:

Come join us to feed and pet rescued deer at Lyell Sanctuary. We will be bringing a picnic to eat amongst the beautiful Australian bush.

Lyell Deer Sanctuary exists to rescue and provide a safe haven for deer. They are home to a small herd of deer: a motley crew of red, fallow, rusa and chital deer who have been rescued from the wild. Along with the deer, they also have goats, cows, chickens, guinea pigs, guinea fowl, peacocks and cats! There are over 50 rescue animals currently living at the Sanctuary.

Note: there will be poo, mud, trees, rocks, gates, fences, insects and other wildlife and you may get dirty or nibbled on. We recommend wearing 'farm' clothes.

ACCESSIBILITY NOTES:

- Toilet facilities are not wheelchair accessible

- Large admission, viewing and picnic area (where younger deer roam freely) are accessible. However, the paddocks are NOT suitable for wheelchairs or unsteady walkers as they are sloped and uneven.
