AUGUST RECAP

AUGUST RECAP

August at Let’s Go: A New Look, Same Heart 💙

A new chapter for Let’s Go!

August was a pretty special month for Let’s Go. Not only did we pack the calendar with an incredible mix of sport, music, social events and adventures, but we also officially launched our full Let’s Go rebrand and brand-new website! 🎉

You might notice that things look a little different around here. We’ve got a fresh new look, a new website and a whole new digital home - but underneath it all, it’s the same Let’s Go, with the same heart.

Our mission hasn’t changed. We’re still all about getting out into the community, trying new things, meeting new people and making sure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the good stuff that Brisbane and beyond has to offer.

And if August was anything to go by, we’re only getting started!

The EKKA took over August 🎡🍓

If we had to pick one major highlight from the month, it would have to be the EKKA!

We made the most of it and headed to the Ekka across four different days, giving plenty of our crew the chance to experience everything the show has to offer.

There were rides, showbags, animals, games, food and, of course, the absolute icon that is the EKKA strawberry sundae. 🍓🍦

And then there was the night show!

Four days of EKKA meant four days of laughs, memories, friendships and plenty of strawberry sundaes. We’ll definitely be back!

🏉 Sport

August was another huge month for Brisbane sport!

We cheered on the Brisbane Lions against the Hawks and Gold Coast Suns, caught plenty of Broncos action against the Knights, Dolphins, Storm and more, and enjoyed the Broncos double-header on August 15. We also backed the Dolphins against the Eels and swapped the footy field for the dirt at Professional Bull Riding.🤠

We’re all feeling it a little after the Broncos haven't had the season we were hoping for, especially after last year's highs. Luckily, the Dolphins are heading into the finals, while the Lions are still in the hunt with the AFL finals coming up.

There’s no better time than now to rally behind our Brisbane teams! 🦁🐬

And as always, live sport is about so much more than the result. It’s the atmosphere, the chants, the celebrations, the heartbreak and sharing it all with friends.

🎉 Socials

August was packed with opportunities to get together, try something new and make memories.

From Greazefest and Karaoke Night to Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Pub Night, Night Feast, Jungle Adult Night, the Splatter Room, The Ballpark, Saturday Social and Beading Morning Tea, there was something for everyone.

And of course, we spent four days at the EKKA! 🎡

What we love most about these events isn't necessarily the activity itself. It's what happens around it.

Someone comes along to their first event, gets to know everyone over dinner or an activity, discovers they have something in common, and suddenly they're planning which event they're going to attend together next time.

That's the stuff we're here for.

Social connection. New friendships. Confidence. Inclusion. Belonging.

August gave us plenty of those moments — and we can't wait to see where those friendships go next.

🎭 Music, Art & Culture

August had something for every kind of entertainment fan!

We experienced the incredible Cirque du Soleil, the high-octane action of the Ipswich Supercars, and a fabulous Drag Brunch at Cloudland.

Comedy fans got plenty of laughs from Jim Jefferies and Jeff Dunham, while theatre lovers enjoyed The Book of Mormon and Club Broadway.

Live music was just as varied, from the pop-rock energy of DICE at The Tivoli and the folk/roots sounds of The Pierce Brothers, to the massive Michael Jackson HIStory Show and the party atmosphere of Björn Again, bringing all the ABBA classics to the stage. 🎶

We also got along to GV Fest, rounding out a huge month of music, culture and live entertainment.

From huge productions and comedy to drag, theatre, tribute shows and live bands, August was another reminder that there's no one-size-fits-all idea of a good time.

For one person, it's screaming along to ABBA. For another, it's discovering a new band, laughing at a comedian or getting dressed up for a night of theatre.

💙 Same heart. Bigger future.

August felt like a turning point for Let’s Go.

A new brand. A new website. New events. New experiences. New friendships.

But while the look might have changed, what we're about hasn't.

We're still here to experience more, meet people, build friendships and have a bloody good time while doing it.

And with spring arriving and an enormous September calendar ahead, we're only getting started.

Same heart. New look. More good times.
