Sun, Sport, and Sound: A Month of Nonstop Fun and Adventure
February came in hot, packed with action on the field, festival vibes, and some of our best social outings yet. From rugby showdowns to island getaways, creative workshops, and our biggest Friday Night Social to date—this month had a bit of everything.

Sport – Pre-Season Hype and Fan Fever
We kicked things off with back-to-back footy action, and the energy was through the roof. The Broncos and Titans went head-to-head in a pre-season game that had the crowd on their feet. Both teams came out firing, and with big hits, fast plays, and plenty of highlights, it was the perfect way to warm up for the 2025 NRL season. But the real treat came with the pre-season doubleheader, where we got not just one, but two massive games in a single night. The Broncos and Dolphins both took the field, giving us a first look at how they’re shaping up for the year. Fans were loud, the stadium was buzzing, and the excitement for footy season is well and truly here.
Rugby lovers got their fix too, as we watched the QLD Reds take on Moana Pasifika in a hard-hitting, fast-paced match. The Reds came out strong, delivering an entertaining game full of skill, speed, and big plays. There’s nothing quite like live rugby, and this match proved just that.
And for the die-hard Broncos supporters, the Fan Fest at The Star Casino was the place to be—live entertainment, player meet-and-greets, and plenty of behind-the-scenes footy fun. Meeting the players up close, grabbing autographs, and soaking in the atmosphere had everyone hyped for the season ahead.
Socials – Exploring, Chilling & Making Memories
Socials this month were next level. We took a scenic trip up to Maleny, bowled the night away at our bowling social, and hit the sand for some sun and surf at our Beach Social. We also checked out the brand-new Wizard of Oz exhibit at Movie World—an immersive experience straight out of the Emerald City. Singalongs were in full force at Wicked, while our visit to Sea Life had us mesmerized by some incredible marine life. Over at the Ambrose Building, the rooftop pool party social was a hit, with everyone cooling off and kicking back in the sun.
The Straddie Day Trip quickly became one of our most popular events. The ferry ride over set the tone for the day—good vibes, perfect weather, and a group ready to make the most of it. We hit the pub for lunch with unbeatable ocean views before spending the afternoon on the beach, soaking up the best of North Stradbroke Island. And then there was our Friday Night Social—our biggest one yet! The energy was high, new faces were everywhere, and the community spirit was strong. If you haven’t been to one of these yet, you’re missing out.
Creative Workshops – A Month of Creativity and Connection
We also got creative this month with some incredible workshops. The Film Photography Workshop took us to Mt Coot-Tha Gardens, where everyone captured their surroundings on disposable film cameras, led by Brisbane photographer extraordinaire Tommy B. A week later, those photos were turned into stunning collages at our Collage Workshop, bringing a whole new layer to the creative process. Our Spice of Life Dinner Party was a wholesome way to spend Valentine’s Day, with everyone learning how to prepare a three-course meal before sitting down to enjoy it together. Thank you to Mel who facilitated this event! And for those ready to step into a world of adventure, we hosted our first-ever Dungeons and Dragons sessions at the Let’s Go Studios. The response was massive, and we’ll be making this a regular thing—so keep an eye out for the next one.
Music – Big Sounds, Big Crowds, Big Energy
February delivered some huge moments for music lovers, with festival energy in full swing and global superstars lighting up the stage. Lookout Festival was a standout, bringing massive sets and an unreal atmosphere.
Beyond the festival scene, we saw some of the world’s biggest artists take over Brisbane. Billie Eilish brought her signature sound and electric stage presence, with a show that had everyone singing along to every word. Kylie Minogue proved once again why she’s a pop icon, delivering hit after hit with pure star power. And for country fans, Chris Stapleton’s soulful, powerful set was nothing short of breathtaking.
From festival fields to stadium anthems, February’s music scene was next level. If this month was anything to go by, 2024 is shaping up to be a huge year for live music!
February was packed, but we’re only getting started. March is bringing even more events, so whether you’re here for the socials, the sport, the music, or the creative sessions, we’ve got something for you. Let’s keep the good times rolling!
