Reflecting on January: Building Community and Creating Memories

January set the tone for an incredible year ahead, filled with electrifying games, unforgettable music, and social events that brought us all closer together. From the roar of the stadium to the splash of the surf, every experience was a chance to connect, celebrate, and create memories with mates old and new.

Roaring Crowds & Unforgettable Moments on the Field

We started the year off right with an action-packed lineup of sports. The NYD Brisbane Heat Big Bash was the perfect way to shake off the New Year’s haze, with the energy in the stadium just as scorching as the summer heat. Cricket continued to bring people together as we cheered on the Heat against the Thunderand Hurricanes, riding the highs and lows of every boundary and wicket.

Basketball lovers had their fair share of heart-stopping moments too, rallying behind the Brisbane Bullets in thrilling matchups against the Kings, New Zealand, Wildcats, Taipans, and Melbourne United. With every three-pointer and slam dunk, the excitement in the crowd was infectious, turning strangers into fast friends.

Not to be outdone, football fans backed the Brisbane Roar in their battles against the Jets and Western Sydney, and for those who prefer their action off the field, Bikes and Bulls delivered a wild mix of adrenaline and mateship, proving that nothing brings people together quite like a shared love for thrilling entertainment.

Making Meaningful Connections, One Social Event at a Time

January was also all about getting social and embracing new experiences together. Axe Throwing proved once again to be the ultimate mix of skill and laughs, with every throw bringing either a bullseye or a belly laugh. The Beach Day and Surf Lesson was a summer dream come true, with plenty of sun, salt, and smiles as everyone cheered each other on in the waves. We had so many new surfers join us, eager to kickstart their New Year’s goal of trying new events! If you are yet to join us for a beach day, RSVP to our next one to see what the hype is all about!

Over at Wet ‘n’ Wild, the only thing better than the water slides was the company, as we raced down chutes and braved the wildest rides together. We overcame the various challenges as a team, and managed to still have an all-time favourite day with a massive Let’s Go crew.

Disney Trivia gave us a night of friendly competition and nostalgia, where die-hard fans battled it out over the toughest Disney deep cuts. Our very own Matthew and Zaide facilitated and presented the trivia in style and has everyone excited for the next one!

Aussie World was a whirlwind of excitement, bringing all the fun of a theme park with the bonus of experiencing it with a great group of mates.

And of course, the debut of our monthly Friday Night Social was the perfect way to wind down the week, bringing familiar faces together while always welcoming new ones into the fold. This event was awesome, as we were able to have fun in any way we wanted and share common interests with those around us to spark new relationships! These monthly socials are a perfect way to make new friends, strengthen existing relationships all while having a blast!

January’s Soundtrack for Good Times

The music scene this month was nothing short of magical. Grease: The Musical had us all singing along, soaking up the feel-good vibes of a classic brought to life on stage. Meanwhile, A Day on the Green delivered two incredible events, first with the smooth, soulful sounds of The Tesky Brothers, then again with The Script, whose anthemic hits had the whole crowd belting out lyrics under the open sky. But it was Luke Combs who stole the show with a powerhouse country set that had boots stomping, voices soaring, and spirits high. These weren’t just concerts—they were experiences, shared moments of pure joy that reminded us why live music is so special.

And of course, we couldn’t forget the one and onlyBianca Del Rio! The quick-witted queen brought the house down with her razor-sharp comedy and unapologetic humour. From the moment she stepped on stage, it was non-stop laughter, with the crowd hanging onto every punchline. The energy in the room was electric, and whether you were a longtime fan or seeing her for the first time, you left with sore cheeks from laughing so hard. It was an unforgettable night of sass, sequins, and side-splitting comedy!

From Art to Icebreakers – Community Events That Brought Us Together

We also had the chance to support some amazing community events hosted by people in the Let’s Go community that truly embraced the spirit of inclusion and connection.

Relatability Speed Dating provided a relaxed, welcoming space for people to meet and bond, proving that whether it’s romance or friendship, there’s someone out there for everyone. Meanwhile, the Sniffing Colours Art Workshop hosted by Annika was a standout sensory experience, blending creativity with social connection in a unique and inspiring way.
