🪩 Let’s Go May Wrap-Up – Disco, Footy & Good Times

Packed with energy, connection and unforgettable moments — here’s everything we got up to in May.

May was one for the books — a jam-packed month full of good vibes, great company, and unforgettable moments. From footy fever and live music to creative workshops and social adventures, there was something for everyone. A major highlight? The return of Let’s Go Disco — our first in over two and a half years! Plus, we cheered on our teams during State of Origin and got around a mountain of events that had our calendar bursting at the seams.

🏟️ Big Plays & Game Days

May was stacked with sport, and our crew was all over it. From rugby league to netball, AFL to monster trucks — we cheered, chanted and celebrated every step of the way.

The State of Origin lit up the month with fierce rivalry and big atmosphere, and we were lucky enough to catch both the men’s and women’s games live! We also turned up the energy at our Magic Round Watch Party on the Ambrose Rooftop — great company, epic footy, and the city skyline as our backdrop.

Our AFL fans had a field day, with Brisbane Lions vs GC Suns, Lions vs Demons, and Lions vs Essendon all drawing big crowds. Over in rugby union, we cheered on the Reds vs Hurricanes, while league fans got amongst Dolphins vs Warriors and Broncos vs Dragons.

Not to be outdone, we saw high-flying action at Freestyle Kings and the thunderous excitement of Monster Truck Mania. For something a little different, our community showed strong support at the Brisbane Lightning vs Perth Thunder ice hockey match!

No matter the sport, we were there — loud, proud, and loving every minute.

🫶 Social Fun & Festival Feels

Our social calendar was buzzing in May, with plenty of chances to connect, laugh and try something new together. We kicked things off with a cosy Games Night at Let’s Go Studios, where snacks were shared, cards were shuffled, and friendly competition brought plenty of smiles.

We went from board games to beach vibes with a chilled-out Beach Day Social, soaking up the autumn sunshine and making the most of the warm weather while it lasts.

For something a little different, we explored the cosmic chaos of Area 51 and the Alien Night Market — neon lights, out-of-this-world snacks and heaps of fun for our sci-fi lovers.

Our classic Friday Social was another hit, giving everyone a chance to wind down from the week with good company, music and casual hangs. And to top it all off, we joined the crowds at the iconic Paniyiri Greek Festival — dancing, loukoumades, and a whole lot of “opa!” made it a community favourite.

Whether we were meeting new faces or catching up with familiar ones, the social energy this month was just right.

🎤 Live Tunes & Dancefloor Moments

Our music fans were spoiled in May! We sang along with ZZ Top at Red Hot Summer Tour, got colourful at Big Gay Day, danced to Eves Karydas, and got nostalgic at the Linkin Park Tribute and The Offspring. We boarded the Train, ventured into the wild world of Swamplesque, took in the magic of Les Misérables, and ended on a high with Bliss n Eso.

But the biggest moment? Let’s Go Disco was BACK. After a long hiatus, our community turned up with their best dance moves, freshest fits and biggest smiles. We welcomed lots of new faces, and it was heartwarming to see new friendships forming across the dancefloor. It was pure joy, start to finish.

Arakai and the lads made the journey down to Northern NSW for the South of the Border festival, featured one of Arakai’s all-time favourites – Full Flower Moon Band. They must have recognised him and came to have a chat and snap some photos. The lads spent the weekend marvelling at the beautiful Bangalow landscape by day, and moshing in crowd by night.

🎶 Music is at the heart of Let’s Go — it’s how we started, and it’s still at the core of what we do. There are always heaps of gigs happening around Brisbane, and what you see on our calendar is just the tip of the iceberg. 🧙‍♂️ Creative Sparks & Epic Quests

May was a big month for creativity — and our community showed just how much imagination, talent and passion they’ve got to share.

Our fortnightly Dungeons & Dragons sessions continued to be a highlight, with epic battles, clever teamwork and hilarious character moments keeping everyone on their toes. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, there’s always space at the table for adventure.

We also hosted some amazing Bring A Plate Dance Workshops, with our crew working hard to prepare for their final performance on June 21. Each week brought more confidence, creativity and connection — and it’s been so special to see everyone supporting each other, showing up, and learning together. Mark the 21st on your calendar, come along and cheer them on — it’s going to be something really special.

Creativity is more than just a hobby for our community — it’s a way to express ourselves, connect with others and try new things. Whether you’re dancing, drawing, rolling dice or just having a go, we love seeing our participants explore what lights them up. Check out all the different workshops at the studio in June!
