October Monthly Recap: Let’s Go is on a Roll! 🎉

October was packed to the brim with unforgettable moments, incredible tunes, epic sporting matchups, and creative vibes.

This month, the Let’s Go community kept the energy high, the laughter flowing, and the memories rolling in! Let’s dive into all the fun we had in October – here’s your recap of all the highlights!

🎶 Music that Made Us Move: October Beats 🎶

October was all about the tunes, from festival vibes to intimate gigs that hit all the right notes. We had so many people join us for their first festivals, and plenty of seasoned music enthusiasts get out to enjoy the epic gigs that were on this month.

First up, Listen Out Music Festival turned up the heat with electrifying beats and stunning visuals, setting the tone for a festival season to remember. We were fortunate enough to receive free tickets to this festival, and cannot thank Listen out and fuzzy entertainment company for hooking us up! Sheppard brought in their signature pop anthems, and they had everyone singing along – a real feel-good experience! Then, it was time for Big Pineapple Music Festival , a sun-soaked fest of non-stop music and good vibes in the Sunshine Coast.

We also enjoyed the magic of Cirque Du Soleil , with mind-blowing performances that left us speechless, and Buzzcocks took us down memory lane with their punk classics! A few of us were lucky enough to go to  Wicked The Musical , while other preferred to see some good ol’ live music from Grinspoon, Kip Moore, Belinda Carlile  and so many more!

At Ability Fest , we got to celebrate music in an inclusive, all-access environment, proving once again that music truly is for everyone. This event was the stand out for the month (maybe even the whole year) as we had a massive group all head into the Victoria Parklands to enjoy what was the most wholesome and inclusive festival to arrive in Brisbane. While most of our crew were at Ability Fest, we had some head to Yowie Festival for 3 days of incredible music deep in in the Queensland bush!

ABBAChoir had everyone channelling their inner disco king and queen, while Club Broadway: Halloween Special brought in the spooky tunes we didn’t know we needed.

And let’s not forget Empire of the Sun , who dazzled us with their psychedelic sounds, and Aussie rock legends Cold Chisel closing out October with all the hits we grew up loving. This month’s music events were truly unbeatable!

🏀 Sports Craze: October’s Ultimate Showdowns! 🏉

October was loaded with action for all our sport lovers! The Brisbane Bullets faced off against some tough rivals, kicking things off with a nail-biting match against the Sydney Kings that had us cheering until the very last second. Next, they went head-to-head with the Breakers and then took on the JackJumpers , delivering non-stop excitement each time.

We also had an epic night screening the NRL Finals at Let’s Go Studios, where the atmosphere was on fire as we watched the intense moments unfold! The AFLW matches kept us on our toes too, with the Lions taking on both the Swans and the Suns in a thrilling October run. And of course, we wrapped it all up with the hard-hitting Rugby League Pacific Championship , celebrating the skill and strength of the best from the Pacific nations. This month’s sports events were unforgettable!

🥳 Social Events & Hangouts: October’s Social Magic! 🍕🎨

Our social calendar this month was full of awesome meetups and social gatherings, each one better than the last. We had a blast at Eat Street Social , where foodies united to try out some amazing bites, while the Pixar Trivia Night had us testing our movie knowledge and having a laugh (spoiler alert: some of us know way too much about Toy Story!).

The creative crowd turned up for Sip & Paint at Let’s Go Studios , an evening filled with brush strokes, colours, and plenty of laughs. Thank you to Zaide and the Colour Collective for, once again, bringing the vibes and providing such a safe and enjoyable space for everyone to explore their creativity.

Things got spooky this month (in a good way) with Spooky Putt Putt and Sip and Swing – a Halloween twist on mini-golf that was the perfect way to get into the spirit of the season. A big shoutout to everyone who joined the Beach Day Social and Surf Lesson too; we loved catching some waves and soaking up the sun together! As always, big thanks to XL surfing for always providing an accessible and inclusive surf lesson for our community to continue bettering their surfing skills.

October wouldn’t be complete without the screams of Fright Nights at Movie World , which totally delivered on its promise to thrill. I have heard that some participants are still feeling the spookiness from this wild event. And of course, our beloved Games Night was back for the gamers to show their skills across various games and consoles on offer, along with a Relate-Ability Mingle Night , giving everyone a chance to connect, mingle, and make new friends. October’s social events were definitely all about bonding, fun, and good times!

🎭 October’s Extra Special Moments 🎨

Last but definitely not least, October saw some unique events that kept us entertained, inspired, and in a constant state of laughter! The Caxton Street Comedy Festival was a belly-laugh fest from start to finish, with some of the best stand-up acts around. We also got our creative hats on for the Colour Collective Workshops , an artistic escape that let us try out different painting and multi-media crafting techniques.

What was extra special this month, was Arakai’s first trip to Sydney to see Nick Shoulders. From the perfect weather, to staying in the Taronga Zoo, to meeting Nick Shoulders himself, Arakai could not wipe the smile off of his face for the whole week!

Then, it was time to raise a stein at Oktoberfest in the Gardens , where we celebrated Bavarian style with friends and festivities. And to close out our October, we couldn’t have asked for a better finish than the Bring-A-Plate Monster Mash Dance Workshops , a unique combo of dance and fun costumes in preparation for the huge Monster Mash party in early November. What a perfect way to end a fantastic month!
